People nowadays, young and old alike, — all of us are learning new things everyday. It could be how to play a piano, a new language, how to find the square root of a number, or how to speak in front of an audience without stage frights. Our minds are constantly evolving with new information.

Undeniably though, sometimes, learning these things can be frustrating and time consuming, but no worries! In this blog, I will give you 5 ways to train your brain to memorize things faster and also to master the information/s thoroughly.

1. Exercise to clear your head

Working out is good for our bodies, but our brain reaps many benefits as well. Exercise can improve learning and memorization, so if you’re having writer’s block or just can’t seem to get through that tough math problem, try walking it off or squeezing in a quick gym session.

2. Memorize through visual aids

Assign an image to what you need to memorize. Associating an image with a word or concept is another powerful way to commit it to memory. Try taking an interesting image and look at it often as you read the material you want to memorize. This can also be very helpful for memorizing people’s names.

3. Listen to music

Researchers discovered that music can help you learn and recall information better, but it depends on how much you like the music and whether or not you’re a musician. The results showed that participants who were musicians learned better with neutral music but tested better when pleasurable music was playing. Non-musicians, on the other hand, learned better with positive music but tested better with neutral music.

4. Avoid too much exposure to gadgets

Too much exposure to gadgets can cause the strength of your memory to decrease and how well we retain that certain information in your brain. Technology nowadays affects us humans more than you can imagine. It shapes our memory, our social life, our perception of things, our intelligence, and our mood. As many entertainment arises in the internet, particularly mobile games, it makes the persons thoughts divided, thus making memorization difficult to do.

5. Minimize intake of junk foods and oily foods

Eating fatty and junk foods appear to take an almost immediate toll on both short-term memory and exercise performance, according to a new research. The new research explains how indulging in fatty foods over the course of a few days can affect the brain and body long before the extra pounds show up. Researchers have discovered high levels of insulin caused by consuming too much junk food, or a bad diet, may affect the brain which causes it to stop responding to the hormone, restricting our ability to think and create new memories.
